97th annual Chamber Excellence Awards celebrated
The Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce recently held its 97th annual Chamber Excellence Awards.

The Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 97th annual Chamber Excellence Awards at the Waxahachie Civic Center.

More than 500 attendees were on hand for the gala, which serves to recognize “the businesses, leaders, and community members who make Waxahachie thrive,” a spokesman said.

The following awards were presented:

• Citizen of the Year – Kevin Chester of Linebarger, Goggan, Blair, and Sampson LLP

• Nonprofit of the Year – Waxahachie Care

• Small Business of the Year – Mint Exteriors

• Medium Business of the Year – The Avenue Church

• Large Business of the Year – Chick-Fil-A Waxahachie

• Newcomer of the Year – Katie Cakes

• Young Professional of the Year – Jordan Molina of Jordan E. Popcorn and Candy Co. and The Heights

• Leadership Award – Jen Graff of Nicholas P. Sims Library

• Ambassador of the Year – Trudy Hankins of TH Coaching and Productions

• Mabel Frame Award – Ellis County Hispanic Organization

• President Recognition – Chelsea Navarro-Holder of Ellis County Title Company

The chamber also extended special thanks to emcee Denny Corby; 360 AVL for audio, visual, and lighting services; TH Productions for its production assistance; VIDDA Films for videography services; Revive Aesthetics and Wellness for providing gifts for the winners; and Faith Family Academy’s Honors Floral Department for the arrangements.
