All things Celtic and Easter celebrations this weekend at Scarborough

Scarborough Faire® (Scarborough Renaissance Festival®) invites you unleash your inner Celt and enjoy Easter celebrations during Celtic & Easter Weekend April 19 & 20. There will be Celtic themed competitions and special Celtic performances, a daily Easter Egg Stroll for the kids, and an authentic Renaissance Easter Service on Sunday. College students also get a special $3 discount (off Single Day Adult Tickets) on Sunday when they show their school ID at the Ticket Office.

Celtic competitions begin at 1:30 pm each day at the Royal Pavilion where Children 12 & under can join in the fun of the age-old games of skill known as the Highland Games for the chance to win fun prizes. Children 12 & under are also invited to participate in the Easter Egg Stroll at 2:30 pm each day at the Maypole. No pre-registration is required, just show up and enjoy the fun!

The Scotch Egg eating contest will round out each day’s contesting at 3:00 pm each day at the Sea Hag Stage. Contestants wishing to test their speed at eating these traditional Scottish favorites must register at the Exit Gate by 1:00 pm each day. Plus, this weekend only, we have a special discount off the signature Seamus’ Choice beers at select pubs throughout the Festival.

Scarborough Faire® (Scarborough Renaissance Festival®) brings in special Celtic entertainment specifically for Celtic Weekend as well. Enjoy the Victorian Fencing Society demonstrating the proficiencies of the Highland broadsword, the broadsword and targe (shield), and the Scottish dirk all weekend; and The Shandon O’Reagan School of Irish Dancers’ thrilling dancing prowess on Sunday.

Throughout the 2025 season (including on Celtic & Easter Weekend), the Celtic celebrations continue with the Scottish bagpipers, the Rogues (through April 27th) and Celtic Legacy (May 5 – 26); the enticing Irish songs from Rover’s Way, and the drinking songs & original tunes of the Irish Punk band, The Langer’s Ball. Other limited engagement entertainment this weekend includes The Foxy Bard, The London Broil Show, and The Toasted Clover Show. Scarborough Renaissance Festival® (Scarborough Faire®) is a full day of interactive fun for everyone, 16th Century style that runs Saturdays, Sundays, and Memorial Day Monday, now through May 26, 2025. Visitors will enjoy full-combat jousting (new for 2025), Birds of Prey exhibitions, and 20+ stages of incredible, interactive live entertainment. They can explore the Artisan Marketplace’s 200 shoppes and be amazed by authentic artisan demonstrations too!

Joining the long time favorites all season are dozens of new artisans including Alchemy Valkyrie, Baby Yaga’s Workshop, Dice Knight Adventures, Hardened Metal, and others such as the Artisan Viking Village. Guest Artisans this weekend are Adorable Arsenal, The Dancing Hatter, Log Hollow Studio, Spellbound Creations, and Snuggle Dragons.

Then there’s the Renaissance rides, games of skill, the Mermaid Lagoon, Royal Menagerie Petting Zoo, knighting ceremonies, Living Chess Matches, the Grande Parade, and much, much more. Some attractions require an additional fee. And don’t forget about food and drink fit for royalty! Turkey Legs, Handmade pastas, fresh from scratch pastries, Scotch Eggs, street tacos, barbecue, the largest food-on-a-stick selection in Texas, Dr Pepper products, and so many other delectable treats.

Visitors 21 & older can get a taste of the custom blended mead from North Texas’ Breaking Brew Meadery and other adult beverages at the (17) pubs and taverns. Those with discerning pallets can partake in a one-hour beer or wine tasting event. These events take place two times each Festival day and the selections and variety change each week. This weekend’s themes are Beer Styles of the Celtic Isles and the Wines of France. The seating at the tasting events is limited and they regularly sell out, so visitors are encouraged to purchase their tasting tickets in advance (and at a discount) at www.SRFestival.com. Tasting tickets are $40 each at the events in addition to Festival admission.

Each weekend of the Festival also has a different theme and a variety of interactive special events. Upcoming themes and events are Viking & Barbarian Weekend April 26 & 27 that also includes Deaf Awareness Day Saturday, April 26 and the Local Heroes Discount Day on Sunday, April 27 when Police, firefighters, EMT, and educators can get a $3 discount off their single day adult ticket when they present their work ID at the gate.

Live the Fantasy Weekend is May 3 & 4, Chivalry Weekend May 10 & 11, kids free on Mother’s Day May 11, Legends of the Seas Weekend May 17 & 18, and The Last Huzzah May 24, 25, & 26.

Come Step Back in Time for the Time of your Life at the 44th annual Scarborough Renaissance Festival® (Scarborough Faire®) Saturdays, Sundays, and Memorial Day Monday, now – May 26, 2025. Costumes designed for a family friendly environment are welcome at Scarborough but are not required.

Some food & drink locations, all of the pubs, and the souvenir shoppes will no longer be accepting cash. Credit, debit, Apple Pay, and other forms of digital payment will be accepted throughout the Festival. Some attractions, games, and rides remain cash only. ATMs and reverse ATMs are conveniently located throughout the Festival.

Single day tickets for the 2025 season are $38 at the gate for Adults (13+) and $18 for Kids (5-12). Kids 4 & under are always Free.
